Don’t Croak With Regret
One studious frog.
When I was in Croatia this past April, casually roaming the charming downtown with a gelato in hand (as one does), I saw a fold-out sign that said “FROGGYLAND” with a picture of two frogs playing tennis. I mean... what kind of emotionally sane person doesn’t investigate that? Naturally, I hopped in.
To my surprise, it was a taxidermy museum. Yep—an entire building dedicated to frogs dressed up and posed like little humans. School frogs. Tennis frogs. Circus frogs. Some might say I paid too much to stare at dead amphibians wearing tiny clothes. But honestly? It was weirdly inspiring.
It made me realize: you really can do anything in this life—even if it involves stuffing dead things. (Okay, that came out darker than intended.)
So here’s a fun little exercise for the next time you find yourself ghosting your own dreams:
Pay attention to when you hit the brakes.
Is it when things get a little too real? Like, right when you’re about to finally launch your website, and instead you suddenly decide you need to “count how many threads are on your carpet” for the 100th time?
That anxiety you feel deep down—that pit in your stomach every time you ignore what you really want to do?
It’s like an emotional pimple on that one impossible-to-reach part of your back. It’s there. It’s annoying. And pretending it doesn’t exist isn’t making it go away.
You want to start a turtle sanctuary? Join the circus? Open a gourmet hotdog stand that serves lizard flavored mayo? DO IT. I’m not even joking you but there are several YouTubers that FOLD LAUNDRY and make a living videoing them quietly folding.
That resistance you're feeling? That’s not a “no.” That’s a big neon sign flashing: “THIS WAY TO YOUR PURPOSE.”
Trust me—I waited 5 whole years to work up the nerve to start this thing.
Even now, as I type this, I can hear that annoying inner voice whispering: “No one’s going to read this. Who do you think you are?”
But here’s the truth: you’ve got to wrangle that voice to shut up and take a hike.
Because you know what’s worse than failing?
Waking up 10 years later, in the same spot, with the same excuses, feeling like your time is up…..It’s never to late to start.
The people out there living their dreams didn’t get lucky or sh*t rainbows their whole life.
They just heard that same doubt and said, “Thanks, but no thanks,” and then bulldogged ahead anyway.
So whether it's taxidermy frogs or your own weird, beautiful idea...
Do the thing and start NOW.
